Flaming Gnome Studios' Vivian Maier biopic is going to the Sonoma International Film Festival this spring! The Woman in the Mirror will be screening at Sonoma right on the heels of Idyllwild between March 21 and 25. Flaming Gnome Studios returns to IIFC
Three years after The Root of Evil won the Golden Coyote Paw for Best Student Film at the 2015 Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema, we're excited to be making our return to the San Jacinto Mountains next year with two films in tow. Both the USC-produced Western Bite the Bullet and the Vivian Maier biopic The Woman in the Mirror have been selected for Idyllwild's student category next March! Idyllwild's 2018 Grand Jury includes talents like Academy Award-nominated actress Anne Archer (Fatal Attraction) and Irene Bedard (Pocahontas).
We're honored to have both our BTB and WITM teams recognized by an outstanding film festival in a beautiful locale. Stay tuned for festival coverage!
The Woman in the Mirror. Tiger of the White Sun. Fin.
After a productive summer, post-production is finally wrapped on The Woman in the Mirror AND Tiger of the White Sun! We're still busy at work cutting together a teaser for Tiger, which should go live over the next week or two. Here's a look at our accompanying lobby card/cover poster for TWS:
In other news, The Woman in the Mirror has gotten into its first festival right out of the gate! We're honored to have been chosen to screen at the 2017 Glendale International Film Festival. Our USC short film Bite the Bullet has meanwhile scored its second laurel, an official selection at The Wild Bunch Film Festival in Willcox, Arizona!
It's been a while.
From Flaming Gnome Studios, we'd like to apologize for the lengthy period of radio silence. Rest assured that filmmaking has been going nonstop in the past months, and 2017 will be bringing more pictures to the table -- both old and new!
The Woman in the Mirror; Tiger of the White Sun: From editing to sound design to color grading, our post-production team is comprised entirely of full-time students, many of whom have been dealing with their busiest semesters yet. Schedule conflicts and other unforeseen circumstances have caused delays, but final completion for both projects is within sight and slated for this summer. Look out for a Tiger of the White Sun trailer coming soon! In the meantime, enjoy these cast portraits by Darren Chien.
Bite the Bullet: A short film created for an intermediate film production course at USC's School of Cinematic Arts, written and directed by Ryan Alexander Huang.
Bite the Bullet is a Civil War-era Western in which a bounty hunter and former Union soldier discovers that his next target is the man who saved his life in battle.
Reverallium: A new film produced by Flaming Gnome Studios in association with Triumvir Pictures and members of USC's Delta Kappa Alpha cinema fraternity, shot this past spring and currently in post-production.
Reverallium follows a young man who copes with the pressures of his coursework and personal life by taking an enhanced dream drug. Panic sets in once his supply of the drug runs out.
