Flaming Gnome Studios is a film production company based in Owatonna, Minnesota.
We trace our history back to 2006, when future director Ryan Alexander Huang coined the name "Flaming Gnome Studios" with a group of friends to promote a sophomoric comic series. After numerous experimental forays into moviemaking throughout the years, our organization entered a new chapter in 2012 with The Root of Evil, a student made, feature-length silent movie. A cast of over 40 high school students clad in 1930's period clothing participated in the nearly two year-long process. Since its completion in May of 2014, the movie, as well as its short film counterpart, has received critical acclaim.
In Fall 2014, the company expanded its main base of operations to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since Spring 2016, Flaming Gnome Studios has prouduced films in both Owatonna as well as Los Angeles.
